Introducing the Spring 2007 NY Fleet Additions
April 30, 2007
Well, it finally happened -- it got warm! Spring is here in the Northeast (or is it Summer?), and we decided to celebrate in the only way we know how -- we went out and got a ton of new cars to share with our clients & members in the NY market.
2005 Lamborghini Murcielago e-Gear
Yeah we decided that one Murcielago wasn't enough (and the folks in Florida have been enjoying it so much we decided not to bring her home quite yet), so we found this red-hot example down in Atlanta and just couldn't resist. Still 570hp. Still a V12 monster. Still completely awesome.
2006 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder
Like it's older brother the Murcielago, we sent our yellow Gallardo Spyder to Florida for the winter and it doesn't want to come home! So we went out and got a 2nd one for the Northeast, and we decided to mix things up a bit and go for orange. We're psyched. The Gallardo Spyder has been and continues to be one of our most popular cars - wild looks, (even crazier) bright color, superb handling, gobs of power, and it looks as good with the top up as it does down.
Yes, it's here and it's ready to drive. What do you get when you take the newest (997) model Porsche 911, reduce the weight, throw on a set of bigger brakes, a better suspension, a sport-tuned exhaust, a short-throw shifter, and add the world's most powerful naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine? The new Porsche 911 GT3. This is a serious, serious piece of machinery.
2005 Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG
The SL-class Mercedes is one of the most popular and versatile convertibles on the market. With its hard top (and integrated moonroof!), it's a coupe with the top up and a roadster with the top down -- no compromises. The SL500 is the one you've probably seen -- a great car, but still just a car. With the SL65 AMG, Mercedes turned a "car" into a menace on wheels. They upped the engine to a V12 and then threw in a pair of turbochargers to bump power output to a near-obscene 604hp, making this the most powerful convertible in the Gotham Dream Cars fleet. There are very few SL65s out there (the $186,000 price tag probably doesn't help),and we're lucky enough to have grabbed one!
Sadly, we finally retired our Bentley Continental GT Coupe after two great years of service, but its replacement is something we are very excited about - Bentley's latest and greatest contribution to the automotive world is a convertible version of the extremely popular Continental GT coupe. We went out on a limb when we ordered our car - in Neptune Blue - and were absolutely thrilled with the result. Though it may be cliche, "pictures do not do this car justice" - the blue is pearlescent metallic and the car just glows in any light. We're pleased to have the only Neptune Blue GTC in the country currently (but after people drive and see this one, we're sure that won't last).
