Ok, we admit it.  We like to throw a party every once in a while, and this past Sunday we threw a great one.  The Bikini Car Wash is becoming an annual ritual here at GDC, and this year’s was the best ever.  We started the day with 40+ cars arriving at the clubhouse for a 3-hour “run” through the twisties of Bear Mountain.  After the drive, Matty cooked up his famous Mattyburgers and our wonderful bikini models gave dozens of slack-jawed guests’ rides a nice clean-up.  The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department even made a special visit and “cooled off” the situation.  Click below for a photo slideshow…

We’d like to extend an invitation to join us for the Gotham Dream Cars / Arena Motors Spring Open House.  The event will be taking place this upcoming Saturday, June 14th 2008.  This will be the first of several great events we’re planning this summer.  The schedule will be as follows:

9am - 11am - Breakfast & Run Prep
11am - 2pm - Group Drive (”Run”) to Bear Mountain
2pm - 5pm - Barbecue & Tech Inspection

Ok, so we got another new car in addition to the Quattroporte.  It’s serious.  It also has a blown transmission (aww.)  But it’s undergoing solid repair right now from our pals at Arena Motors.  This will be the most significant and amazing car we’ve ever put in our fleet, but we’re not going to give the details until it’s all ready to roll.  In the meantime, here are some teaser pics of the patient being operated on.  (BTW, we’re quite bad at keeping secrets, so a modest amount of snooping around the web will reveal what this new beast is.)

Well, all good things must come to an end, and today marks the completion of the BMW M5’s 2-year tour of duty with the GDC fleet.  BUT, what fun would a goodbye ceremony be without a new arrival, and we’re pleased to announce that the fine guys over at at Ferrari/Maserati of Central New Jersey have helped us put Maserati #2 into the fleet.  Presenting the stunning Maserati Quattroporte - a really terrific luxury sports sedan that drives as smoothly as it looks - tons of power (400 horses), plenty of room for the whole family, and sexy sleek curves that turn heads everywhere.  Welcome aboard Maserati!  (and yes, it’s the pure automatic - don’t worry!).

As if we needed any more distractions (beyond the 20+ exotic cars we see on a day-to-day basis), the wonderful folks over at the Virtual-E Corporation were kind enough lend us two of their uber-high-end VirtualGT Racing Simulators for a month.  WOW.  I though video games didn’t do anything for me and boy was I wrong — tons of fun.  We’ve been having a great time ripping around the Nordschleife in ‘08 Formula 1 cars (Marcello did the course in 6:31!).

We’re pleased to announce the arrival of the awesome new 2008 Maserati GranTurismo to the GDC fleet. We custom ordered this car from the factory and our friends at Ferrari/Maserati of Central New Jersey made sure we got one of the first cars off the line. It’s a really excellent vehicle - Maserati has absolutely out-done themselves. Totally redesigned, a 400hp Ferrari F430-derived motor, and a near perfect blend of comfort and handling. So we’re trying an experiment. Call us crazy, but we’ve heard from lots of fans recently that they are dying to drive one of the vehicles from our fleet and would love a chance to do so at a reduced rate during off-peak times.

So here goes: For the month of February and only the month of February, all vehicles in the Northeast will be on sale for an incredible $995/day (max). There comes a time in a great car’s life where all wonderful things must come to an end. Here at GDC, we aim to keep the cars in our fleet for a 2 - 3 year “tour of duty” — after that, it’s time to move them along to new homes and refresh our stock. For our 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider (having just been replaced by both a F430 Spider & a newer model year 360 Spider) and our 2003 Aston Martin Vanquish (about to be replaced by a brand new DB9 Coupe), that time has come.
